| The farm at Millaa Millaa, with the house, cabins and cattle on the left |
We were really blessed to spend about 10 days of our journey at my in-laws farm in Millaa Millaa. The farmhouse and cabins sit on 300 acres, which are a beautiful mixture of green hills and bits of the rainforest. The kids absolutely loved our time at the farm, but especially Charlie. It is a cattle farm with one old horse named Mr. Ed (which Charlie called 'Mr. Head'). We are pretty sure Charlie may grow up to be a farmer. I mentioned before that Charlie was so afraid of the waves at the beach, but throw him on a farm with a bunch of cows and he is fearless. It was so lovely to see him come alive here. The sign at the top of the drive says "Hockey's Farm" but every time we passed by Charlie declared it was "Charlie's farm."

Adelaide and Charlie enjoyed riding the quad bike with Pappa. They also got a ride on Mr. Ed. Carl, Jane, Henry and Daniel joined us for our last week at the farm so it was great to share the experiences with the cousins.

There is a lovely little creek on the farm and the ride was a bit bumpy but we all made it down safely one morning to enjoy the view. The kids (and some adults) couldn't help themselves and waded through the water, then went for a little swim. It looked freezing cold to me but I suppose in the sunlight it wasn't too bad.

While there, we were so blessed to celebrate Del's (Nanna's) 60th birthday! This was a big reason that we came to Australia at this time and we surprised her with some new rocking chairs to enjoy on the back porch of their farm house. The Hockey's were with us in Nashville for Lyndon's 60th birthday
back in February, so we have had a very blessed year of celebrations. I know we all look forward to our return to the farm someday!

(I'm trying out the larger photo size on the blog, please let me know if you have a preference! I might need my husband to help me out a bit (wink, wink) to help things fit a bit better.)
The farm is lovely! And the creek is so pretty! I always enjoy your pictures so having them a bit larger is a plus! Give Lyndon and Delwyn my best....and a happy birthday from me!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are wonderful, as are the descriptions of your adventures.
