A Love Letter

Dear Charlie,

Yesterday was such a big day for you (and for mummy!). It was your two month birthday. I have loved watching you grow and change in these past 9 weeks. It is only a taste of what is to come. You already weigh 11lb 13oz, nearly 5 pounds bigger since you were born. You have been going through your clothes quicker than I can wash them. I just love to hold you close, kiss your forehead, and smell your sweet hair. I'm hoping you will still let me do this when you get older :)

When you were just 2 days old the doctor felt a little click in your hip. When you got a bit older we took your for an ultrasound and took you to see an orthopedic doctor. Yesterday the ortho doctor decided to put you in a brace for the next six weeks. It broke my heart to see you first get fitted in the brace. You were not happy with the restriction it placed on your legs. The doctor assured me that you would not be in any pain and it would just take a little while for you to get used to the brace. You slept well last night. Now we are just adjusting to finding you clothes that work with the brace.

Your big sister, Adelaide, was worried when she first saw the brace. She now knows it will help your "hips to be happy." :) She is always very concerned for you.

We're praying the next six weeks are a time of healing for you and that you will not experience any pain in the process.

Love you,
Mummy
